Dougie Hamilton Dances By Red Wings, Sets Up Bruins’ First Goal (Video)

BOSTON — Dougie Hamilton has played the best hockey of his career in the Bruins’ first-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings. He added another highlight-reel play to his collection in the first period of Saturday’s Game 5 at TD Garden.

With the Bruins on the power play, Hamilton used his superior skating ability and stick-handling skill to weave through the Red Wings defense as he entered the attacking zone. He then fired an centering pass that found Loui Eriksson, who scored the game’s first goal against Detroit goaltender Jonas Gustavsson. It was Eriksson’s first playoff goal since the 2008 Western Conference Finals, which also came against the Red Wings.
