Five Reasons Boston Bruins Will Win 2014 Stanley Cup

The Boston Bruins have, at the very least, a one-in-16 chance to win the Stanley Cup. In reality, however, their chances are much better than that.

The Bruins finally will begin the playoffs Friday night at TD Garden when the puck drops on their first-round series with the Detroit Red Wings. The B’s will be pretty big favorites to advance out of the first round, but they’re also pretty big favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup in a couple of months.

And why not? The Bruins were one of hockey’s best teams all seasons long, as evidenced by them winning the Presidents’ Trophy with the NHL’s best record. They’re only one year removed from making it to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final before falling to a loaded Chicago Blackhawks team. This year, though, the Bruins appear to be the loaded team entering the playoffs and could win their second Cup in three years.
