Milan Lucic, Chris Kelly Have Surgery, Should Be Ready For Bruins Camp

The Boston Bruins’ offseason fixes have started, but they have nothing to do with roster moves.

The Bruins announced Friday that forwards Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly underwent successful surgeries. Lucic had surgery on an ailing right wrist, and Kelly had a herniated disc fixed.

Both players are expected to be ready for training camp, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said in a statement released by the team.

Lucic said at the Bruins’ break-up day last week that he jammed his wrist during Game 7 of the team’s second-round playoff series with the Montreal Canadiens. Kelly, meanwhile, missed more than a month at the end of the season after suffering a back injury April 8 in Minnesota.
