On Saturday, Buchholz gave up three runs on four hits — including two solo home runs — over 4 2/3 innings. But he completely turned himself around Thursday, tossing six shutout innings, while only allowing two hits and two walks and striking out five.
Buchholz had landed himself on the disabled list with a hyperextended knee.
Buchholz’s performance was apparently good enough to get his old spot in the Red Sox rotation back. The Providence Journal’s Tim Britton reported that Buchholz’s next start will be with Boston. No date has been set, but it will presumably be next week.
