The gold medal winner is being held without bail at the SCORE misdemeanor jail in Washington on two counts of fourth-degree domestic-violence assault for allegedly striking her sister and 17-year-old nephew, according to the Seattle Times.
“There was a big party going on at her house. It was an out-of-control situation,” Kirkland, Wash., police Lt. Mike Murray said.
A police report says that they responded to a 911 call at the Kirkland home that Solo shares with her husband, former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens. The caller said that a female was “hitting people” and that they could not diffuse the situation.
The report also said that Solo appeared “intoxicated and upset” and that there were “visible injuries” to her nephew and sister. Police identified Solo as the instigator and primary aggressor.
This is not the first time Solo has been the subject of a domestic violence incident. In November of 2012, her then-boyfriend Stevens was arrested for allegedly assaulting Solo, but he was never charged due to lack of evidence. The two were married hours after the incident.
Solo also is currently the goalkeeper for Seattle Reign FC.
