Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch didn’t accompany his team on its post-Super Bowl White House visit. Why? He didn’t want to.
Lynch did make an appearance Wednesday night at the ESPYs — where the Seahawks were honored with the award for Best Team — but he did so in the most Marshawn Lynch way possible.
As ESPN’s cameras panned the crowd during the show, one caught a glimpse of Lynch, wearing a black T-shirt and beanie in a sea of tuxes and seeming much more absorbed in his phone than whatever was happening up on stage.

The four-time Pro Bowler must have called it a night early, too. Lynch was nowhere to be seen when his teammates took the stage to accept their award, which left cornerback Walter Thurmond (that’s him there in the shorts) with the title of most ridiculously dressed Seahawk.
