The Cavs shed salary cap space with a reported three-team trade Wednesday morning, and shortly after that news broke, another interesting tidbit surfaced. ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported that the Cavaliers now are making a run at veteran guard Ray Allen.
Allen and James are very familiar with each other. The two spent the last two seasons together with the Miami Heat and won a championship in Allen’s first season in South Beach.
Signing Allen would give the Cavs one of the best 3-point shooters in NBA history, as well as some veteran leadership on what would be a very young team. Allen turns 39 later this month and will be entering his 19th NBA season.
