According to multiple reports, James Rodriguez is going to Los Blancos for an astounding €70 million ($94.6 million) transfer fee.
Rodriguez, who played for Ligue 1 (French first division) club Monaco during the 2013-14 campaign, guided Colombia in a surprising run to the quarterfinal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The 23-year-old forward arguably was the player of the tournament, winning the Golden Boot with six goals (he scored in all five of Colombia’s games in Brazil) and providing several memorable highlights.
The addition of Rodriguez would give Madrid the deepest and most talented attack in the world. Los Blancos’ group of quality attacking players already includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and new signing Toni Kroos.
