Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox have been a staple in the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, and one of Big Papi’s most memorable encounters at the annual event came back in 2014, when the All-Star designated hitter met with David Heroian, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2008.
