Patriots Release Defensive Tackle Marcus Forston, Tight End D.J. Williams

The New England Patriots’ roster got a little smaller Thursday.

The team announced the release of defensive tackle Marcus Forston and tight end D.J. Williams. New England now has three open roster spots.

Forston played in three games for the Patriots during the 2013 campaign. The 24-year-old has three total tackles in four career games.

Williams played in two regular-season games for New England last season. The 25-year-old veteran has nine receptions for 70 yards in 35 career games.

The Pats play the Carolina Panthers on Friday in their final home preseason game.
