Peyton Manning Gets In D.J. Swearinger’s Face, Flagged For Taunting (Video)

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning did the unexpected Saturday night: He taunted D.J. Swearinger.

No, really.

Manning took exception to a hit the Houston Texans safety put on Wes Welker, forcing the Broncos wide receiver to leave the preseason game with a concussion, his third in just 10 months. On the very next play, Manning connected with Emmanuel Sanders for a 29-yard touchdown, but instead of celebrating, the quarterback did some trash talking.

Manning got in Swearinger’s face in the end zone and said some things that presumably are not fit to print, earning the first taunting penalty of his NFL career.

All Swearinger would reveal is Manning had “choice words” for him. Manning was equally mum, saying Swearinger responded with: “Thanks. I appreciate it. Good luck to you, as well.”
