Bill Belichick Laughs Off Question About Tom Brady, QB Controversy (Video)

Bill Belichick was not a happy camper Monday night, but he was still able to crack a smile in his postgame news conference.

Belichick took the podium just moments after his New England Patriots were embarrassed 41-14 at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs on “Monday Night Football.” As is usually the case, Belichick divulged very little of substance in his media briefing.

Predictably, he was asked about quarterback Tom Brady, who had one of the worst games of his career. Brady completed 14 of 23 passes for 159 yards, a touchdown and two ugly interceptions. The veteran finished the game with a quarterback rating of just 59.9. Adding to the intrigue was the fact that backup Jimmy Garoppolo entered the game in the fourth quarter and played well, completing six of seven passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.

So it was only a matter of time before someone in the media asked Belichick if there was some sort of quarterback controversy brewing. A reporter asked the coach if he would “consider evaluating the quarterback situation,” and Belichick responded exactly how you would imagine.

Things don’t look good for Brady, Belichick and the Patriots right now, but this is still the future Hall of Famer’s team. However, if Brady continues to struggle like he did Monday night, Belichick might have to start taking those types of questions a little more seriously.
