Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson Suffers Injury During England Duty

When Liverpool resumes Premier League competition next Saturday against Aston Villa, midfielder Jordan Henderson might not be available for Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI.

The 24-year-old recently suffered an apparent ankle injury while on international duty with England, per This is Anfield. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but the Reds already are without injured striker Daniel Sturridge.

Henderson has started the league campaign in fine form and was one of Liverpool’s best players in its 3-0 win over Tottenham.

If he does need to miss a game or two, summer signing Adam Lallana could feature more prominently in Liverpool’s midfield when league play resumes.

The Reds begin Champions League competition Sept. 16 against Ludogorets.
