The B’s played their preseason home opener Wednesday night, skating to a 2-0 win over the Washington Capitals. One day later, they trimmed their roster by 10 players as they count down to opening night.
The team announced Thursday that the following players have been released from training camp and will join the Providence Bruins: Andrew Ammon, Tommy Cross (subject to clearing waivers), Steve Eminger, Rob Flick, Cory Kane, Adam Morrison, Frankie Simonelli, Ethan Werek, Ben Youds and Mike Young.
There aren’t too many notable names on the list, although Eminger is an 11-year veteran who last saw NHL action with the New York Rangers from 2010 to 2013.
The Bruins will travel to Washington D.C. to face the Washington Capitals on Friday night, then play two more preseason games each against the Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders. Their regular season kicks off Oct. 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden.
