We’re referring, of course, to the infamous “Tuck Rule” game in 2002, when an obscure call in the AFC divisional playoffs allowed New England escape with a 16-13 win. Brady garnered a few headlines this weekend when he posted a picture from that game on his Facebook fan page, seemingly trolling Raiders fans the day before Sunday’s game.
In his weekly appearance on Westwood One’s Monday Night Football pregame show, Brady laughed off his apparently provocative decision.
“It was a great day for the Patriots,” Brady told host Jim Gray. “My Facebook page is for Patriots fans and Tom Brady fans. I wasn’t trying to do anything… It definitely wasn’t about the Raiders; it was only about the Patriots and our fans.”
Brady kept his responses lighthearted, but when Gray pointed out that some Raiders fans could take his post the wrong way, the veteran quarterback got a little chippy.
“It’s a Tom Brady fan page is what it is, so if they’re not fans, they shouldn’t plug into my page.”
Tom does have a point; if Oakland fans are checking out Tom Brady’s fan page on Facebook, they shouldn’t exactly expect compliments about their team.
