Before this year, the Kansas City Royals hadn’t made it into the postseason since 1985. It appears despite the 29-year drought, the team and its fans didn’t forget how to celebrate.
After defeating the Los Angeles Angels 8-3 to sweep the American League Division Series, the Royals invited their fans to join them at McFadden’s Sports Saloon in Kansas City’s Power & Light District as they celebrated the long-awaited postseason series victory.
Eric Hosmer, the team’s first baseman, sent out the personal invite on Twitter.

According to KSHB, Hosmer thanked the fans for their support throughout the season, by using his credit card to buy everyone at the bar drinks for an hour.

Kansas City will take on the Baltimore Orioles in an American League Championship Series that not many — if any at all — predicted to take place. Game 1 will get underway Friday.
