National Anthem Singer Wipes Out Mid-Song, Still Keeps Singing (Video)

When someone messes up the national anthem at a sporting event, it’s usually because they forgot the lyrics or hit the wrong note.

Yet Mark Donnelly may have topped the charts Friday night before a contest between the Penticton Vees and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Donnelly decided that rather than singing the anthem stationary on a carpet, like most anthem singers, that he would skate around the rink. Somehow, he failed to notice the carpet at center ice and skated right into it, causing him to fall flat on his face.

Amazingly, Donnelly didn’t miss a note and continued singing despite his hard tumble. Future anthem singers should probably resist the urge to skate while performing, however.
