Ole Miss’ Upset Of No. 3 Alabama Sparks Wild Scene In Oxford (Photos)

If you live in Mississippi and are a college football fan, you just had one of the best weekends of your life.

The Magnolia State had a day for the ages Saturday, starting with No. 12 Mississippi State’s 48-31 takedown of No. 6 Texas A&M. The University of Mississippi did its cross-state rival one better, though, pulling off a 23-17 upset of No. 3 Alabama thanks to this impressive late interception.

As you might expect, the Ole Miss fans in Oxford, Miss., were quite pleased with this result and celebrated as such.

That goal post, obviously, didn’t stand a chance, but the folks in Oxford took the time-honored tradition to another level by literally carrying the goal post through the town’s streets.

Apparently the police officers didn’t seem to mind. Either that or they just gave up.
