Report: C.J. Spiller Breaks Collarbone, Out For Rest Of Bills’ Season

The Buffalo Bills escaped with a thrilling comeback win Sunday, but it came at a huge price.

Sammy Watkins caught a touchdown pass from Kyle Orton with one second left in the game to secure a 17-16 win for the Bills. In the second quarter, however, running back C.J. Spiller landed awkwardly at the end of a 53-yard run down the sideline and was carted off the field with an injured collarbone.

The initial diagnosis was not good, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

After the game, Bills coach Doug Marrone said Spiller is out indefinitely. According to reports, it might be a very long time before he suits up again.

As La Canfora noted, Spiller wasn’t the only Bills running back to go down Sunday. Jackson left the game in the first quarter after suffering a groin injury, leaving third-string running back Anthony Dixon to handle the bulk of the rushing duties.

Jackson and Spiller combined for 1,823 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2013. The Bills are in second place in the AFC East with a 4-3 record, trailing only the 5-2 New England Patriots.
