Three Players Injured, Two Players Ejected In Crazy Rangers-Wild Game (GIFs)

Just one night after a massive brawl between the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks, NHL fans were treated once again to the ugly side of hockey.

In the first period of the New York Rangers’ game against the Minnesota Wild on Monday night, Rangers forward Chris Krieder was ejected for a brutal hit on Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin.

But the two teams were just getting started. In the second period, Minnesota forward Zach Parise went down after taking a stick to the face, although replays determined the stick belonged to teammate Mikko Koivu.

Parise went to the dressing room but returned with several stitches on a pretty nasty cut.

The worst hit of the game, though, came from Rangers enforcer John Moore, who delivered a hard elbow to the head of Wild forward Erik Haula. Haula was down on the ice for an extended period of time and did not return, while Moore immediately was ejected.

The Wild won’t have long to recover from their injuries, as they take on the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Tuesday night. To add insult to injury, Minnesota blew a three-goal lead in the third period and lost 5-4.
