Shaun Hill Catches Own Pass On Crazy Deflection In Win Over Broncos (Video)

Everything went right for the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

The Rams were the clear underdogs as they welcomed the Denver Broncos to town with quarterback Shaun Hill making his first NFL start since 2010. Yet Hill and the Rams found themselves up 10 points late in the second quarter and facing a third-and-3 in Denver territory.

The 34-year-old threw a pass, and the ball landed back in his hands. How it got there was nothing short of amazing.

Here’s another angle of the play.

We’ve seen a handful of quarterbacks catch their own passes over the years, but Hill’s pinball-esque “reception” might be the most bizarre. It also proved important, as the Rams maintained possession and kicked a field goal on the next play to extend their lead to 13.

Hill and the hometown team kept that good luck going into the second half. Peyton Manning threw for just one touchdown and two interceptions as St. Louis rolled to a surprising 22-7 win.
