Brady ran down the Gillette Stadium sideline on Sunday to meet Julian Edelman in the end zone after the receiver weaved 84-yards down the field on a punt return touchdown. Brady admitted he was “kind of winded” after meeting his buddy in the end zone.
“That’s the longest I’ve ran in a long time, so it was a great reason to do it,” Brady said Wednesday at Gillette Stadium. “Jules is just — he’s awesome. I love that guy. Just a special person, player, friend, we’ve had a lot of time together over the years. We’ve just got a great, special bond.”
Edelman had a bounce-back game in the Patriots’ 43-21 win over the Broncos, catching nine passes for 89 yards and a touchdown after suffering two drops apiece in New England’s Week 7 and 8 wins. Edelman took home AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his big return.
