Andre Johnson Ruled Out With Concussion After Brutal Hit To Head (GIF)

Andre Johnson’s day is over.

The Houston Texans wide receiver took a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

Johnson appeared to be knocked out for a few moments after being leveled by Jags linebacker Telvin Smith. The hit was so forceful in fact that it knocked the All-Pro’s helmet off.

After remaining down on the field for a while, Johnson headed straight to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion, the Texans announced.

Smith drew a personal foul on the play, and the Texans went on to score two plays later to take a 10-7 lead.

UPDATE (2:26 p.m.): Johnson indeed suffered a concussion on the play and will not return.
