Arena Blimp Crashes Into Section Of Fans At Blazers-Pacers Game (Video)

A blimp crashed Thursday night.

OK, so it was an in-arena blimp, and no one was hurt, but it still made for a few tense moments during the Portland Trail Blazers-Indiana Pacers game at the Moda Center.

The inflatable blimp — not unlike other similar blimps at an arena near you — had some sort of malfunction. The result was the blimp crashing into a section of people in the first quarter on Thursday night.

Things got really fun when arena staff hurried to fix the situation. The only apparent move to make was to force the blimp through the opening to the section and down into the concourse. As you might imagine, that wasn’t the easiest thing to do.

When it was all said and done, though, everyone was fine and the blimp eventually was removed. The Blazers even won the game to turn a potentially devastating event into a great night at the arena for everyone — well, except for the blimp operator.
