Why it’s a top-10 sports movie: Arguably the most quotable sports movie of all time, “Caddyshack” might be the funniest movie on this list. Not only is it hilarious, but the 1980 classic also features stars such as Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Murray in the prime of their careers.

Biggest star: Bill Murray is the biggest star on a cast that features some other Hollywood greats. “Caddyshack” served as one of Murray’s breakout roles, with the legendary funnyman playing groundskeeper Carl Spackler, whose battle with a gopher makes for one of the film’s best scenes.

Marquee moment: Everything comes to a head in the final scene, which includes everything you can want in a movie: explosions, gophers and golf.

Did you know? The noises the gopher makes in the movie actually are noises made by a dolphin. They’re the same sound effects used for the dolphin in the TV show “Flipper.”
