Boston College was able to salvage a tie against Northeastern with a late goal Friday night.
On Saturday, the home team made sure it came away with the full two points.
The No. 16 Eagles (12-7-2) got two goals from forward Chris Calnan en route to a 4-2 win over the Huskies (7-11-3) at Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Things looked good early for Northeastern, which jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to an even-strength goal by forward Torin Snydeman midway through the first period. After that, though, it was all Eagles. Michael Matheson tied the score late in the first period, and back-to-back tallies by Calnan put BC ahead for good.
Eagles goaltender Thatcher Demko stopped 31 shots in the win.
BC will face a huge test next Friday when it takes on No. 2 Boston University in a game televised on NESN at 7 p.m. The Huskies will face No. 12 Vermont next Friday.
