Byron Scott, Like Kobe Bryant, Annoyed With Lakers’ Over-The-Top Celebration

It’s safe to say the Los Angeles Lakers won’t be celebrating much the next time they snap a long losing streak.

Several members of the Lakers went a bit over the top Sunday night after the team ended a seven-game losing streak with an overtime win over the Boston Celtics. Nick Young, Jordan Hill and Jeremy Lin hammed it up during a postgame interview after erasing the skid with a win over a Boston team that’s 13 games under .500.

Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant — who is out for the season with an arm injury — had a cold reaction to the celebration during an appearance Monday night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Los Angeles coach Byron Scott wasn’t very pleased, either, when he was asked about it.

“Kobe’s reaction was pretty much my reaction when I was watching it,” Scott said Tuesday, according to ESPN.com. “I was just shaking my head like, ‘I can’t believe this.’

“As a coach of this team I was very disappointed,” he added. “That’s not how I act, win or losses. I want our guys to know that.”

Only three teams in the NBA have a worse winning percentage than the Lakers, who are 14-41 after the win over Boston.
