If you were a little confused why the Los Angeles Lakers celebrated their Sunday win over the Boston Celtics as if they’d just won the NBA Finals, you weren’t the only one.

Kobe Bryant appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday, and Kimmel showed the injured Lakers guard a clip of Nick Young, Jordan Hill and Jeremy Lin’s postgame interview. Bryant didn’t say anything after seeing his teammates’ over-the-top reactions to beating the then-20-33 Celtics, but his face said it all.

Kimmel went on to compare Bryant to J.K. Simmons’ character in the movie “Whiplash,” a sociopathic jazz conductor who thinks “there are no two words in the English language more harmful than good job.” Bryant believed the host’s comparison was spot on.

“If you’re doing something that isn’t very well done,” Bryant said, “I’m not going to say it’s very well done.”
