Russell Westbrook Dents Face, Undergoes Surgery For Fractured Cheek (Video)

You know things aren’t good when you end up with a dent in your face.

That’s the situation Russell Westbrook found himself in Friday night when the Oklahoma City Thunder star suffered one of the most painful-looking injuries we’ve seen in a while.

Westbrook was on the wrong side of a knee from teammate Andre Robinson as the two got tied up near the basket. The knee to the face looked bad, of course, but the result was really nasty. Westbrook ended up with a “dent” on the side of his face.

The injury came at the end of an otherwise sensational night for Westbrook, who recorded his third triple-double of the season. The All-Star’s condition is still unknown, as he didn’t meet with the media following the game, probably because he had a dent in his face.

UPDATE (5:00 p.m.) — Westbrook got the dent removed.

The Thunder guard underwent surgery to repair a right cheek fracture Saturday in Los Angeles. He will be re-evaluated next week.
