Britt McHenry Makes Headlines After Berating Tow Lot Employee (Photos)

ESPN reporter Britt McHenry found herself all over the news Thursday when a video surfaced of the 28-year-old berating a tow lot employee.

McHenry joined the network in 2014 has become a very popular figure. Based in Washington D.C., she seamlessly jumped into the network’s football coverage and since has branched out to cover several other sports, typically in exclusive pregame interview packages.

You won’t catch McHenry on TV this week, though, as ESPN announced Thursday evening that she’s been suspended one week, effective immediately.

The punishment is interesting, as McHenry received a lighter suspension than columnist Bill Simmons — who ESPN suspended for calling NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a liar on his podcast — and the same as TV personality Stephen A. Smith — who controversially said women provoked domestic violence on air.

Prior to joining ESPN, McHenry worked as a sports reporter at ABC7/WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. and at News Channel 8. She also played collegiate soccer at Stetson University.
