Report: Six Teams In Adrian Peterson Trade Discussion; Cowboys Among Them

Adrian Peterson’s only way out of Minnesota is via trade. Where he’d end up is anyone’s guess, but it appears there’s now a short list.

The Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers all are in the mix for the Vikings running back, a source told the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.

The source added that if Peterson is traded, it likely will happen before or during the NFL draft, which begins April 30.

“If he’s not traded next week, they’re going to keep him,” the source said, via the Pioneer Press.

Of course, there’s a decent chance Peterson remains with Minnesota, as the Vikings have him under contract for the next three seasons and have said they’d “love” to keep the six-time Pro Bowler. Peterson also turned 30 in March and would require a hefty salary for a team interested in his services.

Yet Peterson clearly isn’t happy with his situation in Minnesota, and his agent said last month that he doesn’t want his client playing for the Vikings this season. There’s already been some buzz about the Texas native joining the Cowboys to replace DeMarco Murray, but it appears Dallas has plenty of competition.
