You know something is a big deal when the President of the United States weighs in.

That’s exactly what happened Thursday after the Chicago Bulls unceremoniously fired head coach Tom Thibodeau. Shortly following the announcement, President Barack Obama — an avid Chicago sports fan — interrupted a Twitter Q&A on climate change to give his two cents on the move.

We’re with you, Barack.

Thibodeau averaged 51 wins per season with the Bulls and, after inheriting a team with a .500 record over its last two seasons, led Chicago to a 62-win campaign in his first season as head coach in 2010-11.

Thibodeau has received interest from several NBA teams, so there’s a good chance Obama’s prediction comes true. Yet the POTUS wasn’t done dropping his NBA knowledge. With the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors set for next week, Obama sang the praises of stars LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

Did the president just say Kyle Korver is a better shooter than the NBA MVP? We’ll leave that alone for now and just be glad Obama is willing to offer up his sports takes for all to see.
