Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug scored his first goal and fourth point of the 2015 IIHF World Championships in the United States’ 4-2 win over Russia in Monday’s preliminary round game.
Krug, who was named Team USA’s player of the game, gave the Americans a 2-1 lead in the second period with a brilliant shot. In addition to his goal, Krug tallied four shots in 23:35 of ice time, including 9:26 in the third period. He has a point in all three preliminary round games.
The United States continues preliminary round play May 7 against Belarus.
