LeBron James Bows To Jim Brown Before Cavs’ NBA Finals Game 3 Win (Video)

LeBron James isn’t the most humble guy, but he still was able to recognize greatness Tuesday.

Before Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena, the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar spotted Jim Brown in the front row and showed his respect for the Cleveland Browns legend with a brief bow.

There’s plenty of meaning behind that gesture, as Brown was the last player to bring a championship to Cleveland when the Browns won the NFL championship in 1964. The Cavs can end that 51-year title drought by knocking off the Golden State Warriors, but much of that burden will fall on James.

It’s clear LeBron’s respect for Brown is mutual, though. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Brown praised the maturity and poise James has shown since returning to his home state.

“For him to have to have the ability to deal with the politics of being back in Cleveland, dealing with the politics of his own team, I have great admiration for what I see as a great contribution by a human being on and off the field,” Brown said.

“The way he expresses himself, the way that he plays, and the understanding that he has of what his role is, is very refreshing,” he added. “It’s rare for a man that young to have that kind of wisdom.”

James’ strengths certainly were on display Tuesday night, as he tallied 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists as the Cavs won 96-91 to take a 2-1 series lead.
