Report: Paul Pierce, Clippers Agree On Three-Year, $10 Million Contract

Paul Pierce is going, going … back, back … to Cali.

The California native reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers worth $10 million, per The Associated Press. The veteran swingman became a free agent after he opted out of his contract with the Washington Wizards.

Pierce, who will be 38 in October, will reunite with head coach Doc Rivers. The two were together in Boston with the Celtics for eight seasons, winning an NBA title in 2008 and reaching the NBA Finals in 2010.

Pierce is entering his 18th season and will be starting with a new team for the third consecutive season. In his first and only season with the Wizards, Pierce averaged 11.9 points per game over a little more than 26 minutes a night. His leadership and experience proved invaluable for an upstart Washington team in the playoffs, though, and he should be a welcomed addition for a Clippers team that’s already one of the NBA’s best.
