Tony Romo, Eli Manning Channel Rob Lowe In DirecTV Commercials (Videos)

Move over, Rob Lowe — you’ve got company.

Last football season, NFL fans couldn’t help but notice the actor popping up in nearly every single commercial break as he pitched DirecTV in a pretty entertaining ongoing series of spots. “Creepy Rob Lowe,” “Meathead Rob Lowe” and “Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe” were just a few of the alter egos created to illustrate the difference between DirecTV and cable.

Now, with a new football season upon us, the campaign is back — sort of. Instead of Lowe pushing the satellite TV service, DirecTV has called on New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
