High School Football Player Hurdles Defender, Scores Amazing TD (Video)
High school football season just got off to a flying start.
Believe it or not, the regular season already is underway in some parts of the country, including Alabama, where Edgewood Academy played its season opener against Escambia on Thursday night.
That’s good news, because the contest provided us with one of the most impressive plays you’ll see at the high school level.

— Josh Bean (@jbeanpoll) August 21, 2015That’s Edgewood junior wide receiver Jackson Tate, who took a screen pass and completely cleared an Escambia defender en route to an amazing 35-yard touchdown for the game’s first score.
Tate’s incredible play immediately became a hit, coming in as the top play on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” as of Friday morning. So how’d you do it, Jackson?
“I didn’t even think about it,” Tate told AL.com after the game, a 33-21 Edgewood win. “It just happened. I guess it was just instinct.”
Tate hasn’t been recruited too heavily, but his coach, Bobby Carr, believes the wideout has “SEC talent.”
Judging by the recent exploits of a few SEC running backs, we’d say Tate fits the mold.
