Minor League Teams Cancel Game Due To Distracting Circus Tent (Photos)

It was an absolute circus in Tampa on Friday night.

That was the site of a Florida State League game between the Clearwater Threshers and Tampa Yankees, which was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, so it looked like the game would go off without a hitch. Right before game time, however, the clubs made a surprising announcement.

So why was this game cancelled? Let’s address the elephant in the room:

That’s awkward.

The massive, colorful circus tent — which someone decided to plop right next to George Steinbrenner Field — also featured blinking lights on top, so we’d imagine how that’d be a pretty big distraction for batters.

The good news for fans who missed a baseball game because of a circus tent is that Saturday is “Star Wars Night” in Tampa.

Just don’t put any lightsabers behind the outfield, you guys.
