Even in death, Barbara Shippee wanted her support of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to live on.
Shippee, a North Kingstown, R.I., native, died last week at age 74, and her obituary in the Providence Journal contained one unorthodox request.
“In lieu of flowers,” the obituary read, “please make memorial contributions to ‘Tom Brady’s Deflategate Defense’ as she was the Ultimate Patriots Fan or to the charity of your choice.”
It’s doubtful someone with Brady’s resources would require donations for his ongoing legal battle against Roger Goodell and the NFL, but we’re sure the quarterback nonetheless appreciated the gesture.
