The Vanderbilt University football team was in the news Thursday, thanks to what some are seeing as an ill-advised tweet.

A few hours after it was posted, the tweet below started being passed around Twitter and the Internet.

The tweet was posted just after 10 a.m. ET and was deleted shortly after making the rounds.

What’s making this an especially bad look for the university and football program is that two former Vandy football players were accused of raping a woman in a school dorm in June 2013.

The two players — Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey — eventually were convicted of rape in January. They were released from jail in June on bond. A mistrial was declared a day before their release, and prosecutors are seeking a new trial, although a new date has not been set.

So, yeah. Probably not the best tweet.
