NBC Says Steelers Were Hearing Patriots Radio Broadcast In Headsets

When former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak is on the radio, you just can’t shut it off.

NBC’s Al Michaels reported an interesting tidbit during the first quarter of the New England Patriots’ opening game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday: The Steelers allegedly were getting fed the Patriots broadcast from 98.5 The Sports Hub into their headsets.

Zolak — a beloved cult icon among Patriots fans — is the color commentator, and Bob Socci handles play-by-play duties.

Zolak weighed in on Twitter.

NBC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya added that it was the coach-to-coach headsets, and that the Patriots’ headsets were shut off while Pittsburgh was dealing with the issue — the normal routine when equipment malfunctions.

In other words, everything was fair. The Patriots had nothing to do with this, it isn’t #HeadsetGate, and we can now all laugh at Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin listening to Zolak wooing on the sidelines.
