The accusations against the New England Patriots keep coming, but Tom Brady is tuning them all out.
After Brady’s four-suspension for his alleged role in Deflategate was vacated, ESPN and Sports Illustrated came out with new reports about the Patriots and their potential wrongdoing. But Brady is focusing on what happens on the field, not in the media.
“I hear it and then I just kind of ignore it,” Brady said on WEEI’s “Dennis & Callahan” on Monday. “I said last week it’s kind of just, at this point in the season there’s only one thing for me to focus on. Anything else is a waste of my time. So, stuff like that’s really a waste of my time.”
In fact, Brady thinks those media reports take away from the sport itself.
“I think football’s such a great sport,” Brady said. “There’s so many players that work so hard and so many players I’ve played with that I respect and played against that put so much in and sacrificed their bodies, their minds for the sport that I think it’s just a disservice to talk about anything other than that. This game of football is great for a lot of reasons, certainly for the coaches and the players that put so much into it.
“ … The good things about the sport are the things that I really love. That’s why I love the game, for the great performances that you see on a weekly basis. All the other stuff that’s more offseason stories, I just kind of ignore it at this point.”
Sounds like it’s on to Buffalo.
