American Pharoah did it again.
The legendary horse won racing’s Grand Slam with a victory at the Breeders’ Cup Classic on Saturday. American Pharoah dominated the race from start to finish, winning it by an impressive 6 1/2 lengths. Now the Triple Crown winner heads off into retirement.
“I think it’s time for him to step out and have a nice life,” jockey Victor Espinoza said of Pharoah, via USA Today. “He deserves to have a nice break. He’s run so many times this year and I think it’s time for him to step out and have a nice life. I would be really sad if something happened to him in another race.”
