Yoenis Cespedes Blast 431-Foot, 111-MPH Home Run In Mets’ Win Over Dodgers (Video)

The Los Angeles Dodgers had a Cuban missile crisis Monday night in New York.

The Dodgers’ season is on the brink after they were hammered by the Mets in Game 3 of the National League Divisional Series on Monday at Citi Field. Los Angeles will play for its season Tuesday night with Clayton Kershaw on the mound in an attempt to stave off elimination.

Perhaps Kershaw and the Dodgers should pay extra attention to Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, especially in the wake of Cespedes’ Game 3 performance. The midseason acquisition flexed his enormous muscles with a game-changing three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning that all but sealed the win for the Mets.

Not only did Cespedes hit the big home run, he might have murdered the baseball. Cespedes launched the Alex Wood offering deep into the night and might have put some folks in danger, too. The 431-foot dinger had an exit velocity of 110.7 mph, according to MLB’s Statcast.
