Buffalo Bills Finally Beat Patriots At Something: Having Drunkest Fans

Congrats, Buffalo Bills fans: You finally beat the New England Patriots. Kind of.

A company called BACtrack did a study using its smartphone app that measured the average blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of NFL fans of individual teams. The results show one clearly defined leader ahead of the pack.

The 0.076 BAC for Bills fans means the average person at their games essentially is legally drunk. Bills fans were followed by fans of the Detroit Lions (0.069), Philadelphia Eagles (0.069), Cleveland Browns (0.064), and Arizona Cardinals (0.062). Pats fans were right in the middle of the pack, averaging a 0.041 BAC — 18th overall in the study.

The legal BAC limit to drive is 0.08.

The founders of the company hope publishing this data helps “provide insight into alcohol consumption habits around the nation so consumers can consider the effects of alcohol, and make smarter decisions when drinking.”

A fan died after being shot in the head in the parking lot following the Patriots-Dallas Cowboys game in October. The suspect was alleged to have been drunk at the time of the shooting.
