Patriots’ James White Breaks Tackle, Scores First NFL Touchdown (Video)

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ offense was having all sorts of problems in the first half Monday night, clearly suffering from the absence of wide receiver Julian Edelman and running back Dion Lewis.

Enter Lewis’ backup.

With the Patriots locked in a 3-3 game against the Buffalo Bills and just 13 seconds remaining in the second quarter, quarterback Tom Brady found James White with a pass in the right flat.

The second-year running back did the rest, doing his best Lewis impression to break Bills safety Corey Graham’s tackle and score a 20-yard touchdown.

The touchdown was the first of White’s NFL career and gave the Patriots a seven-point lead entering halftime.

White had just two touches in New England’s Week 10 win over the New York Giants, but his impressive touchdown Monday is a good sign for a team that will need all the help it can get with Edelman and Lewis sidelined.
