FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots brought three free-agent wide receivers to Gillette Stadium on Wednesday for tryouts.
The Patriots worked out Alan Bonner, Julian Talley and Austin Willis, according to a source. The Patriots need healthy bodies at wide receiver with four players at the position currently banged up.
Bonner, a 25-year-old Jacksonville State product, was cut from the Houston Texans’ practice squad last month. The 5-foot-10, 191-pound receiver was a sixth-round draft pick by the Texans in 2013.
Talley, a 26-year-old who went undrafted out of UMass in 2012, was cut from the New York Giants’ practice squad last week. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound wideout has played in four career games, recording zero receptions.
Willis, 23, went undrafted out of Emporia State in 2015 and spent training camp with the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound receiver was cut from the Bills’ injured reserve list in September.
