David Pastrnak Assigned To Providence Bruins, Records An Assist In Loss

UPDATE (11:45 p.m. ET): David Pastrnak played in the Providence Bruins’ 4-2 loss to the Springfield Falcons on Saturday night and assisted on Seth Griffith’s third-period goal.

ORIGINAL STORY: David Pastrnak appears one step closer to returning to the Boston Bruins.

The right wing, who missed the last 21 games with a fractured left foot, was assigned to Providence on Saturday. Pastrnak is scheduled to play Saturday night against the Springfield Falcons, and a decision on his availability for the Czech Republic in the World Junior Championship is expected “sometime thereafter.”

Pastrnak had two goals and two assists in 10 games for Boston before missing significant time with the broken foot.

Left wing Alex Khokhlachev also was assigned to Providence.
