Carson Palmer Beats Tom Brady, Drew Brees For FedEx Air Player Of Year

Carson Palmer just added a bit of hardware for his trophy room.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback defeated New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees to win his second career FedEx Air Player of the Year Award. Palmer previously won the award in 2005.

As part of the victory, FedEx is donating $25,000 to the Arizona chapter of the Red Cross in Palmer’s name.

Palmer had a career-best 104.6 passer rating, tied for second in the NFL with 35 touchdown passes and threw just 11 interceptions, the lowest 16-game total in his career. He also threw for 4,671 yards, good for fourth in the NFL, and set franchise records for both yards and TD passes.

Brady led the league with 36 touchdown passes and seven interceptions while adding 4,770 passing yards, good for third in the league. Brees led the league with 4,870 passing yards despite missing a game and playing through several others with a shoulder injury.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson won the Ground Player of the Year Award for the fifth time in his career after leading the league with 1,485 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
