Brad Stevens Earns Eastern Conference Coach Of Month Honors For February

In addition to jumping off trampolines and making highlight-reel dunks, Brad Stevens also knows a thing or two about coaching basketball.

The Celtics coach, whose team led the Eastern Conference in February with a 9-3 record, was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month on Tuesday.

That successful streak included a perfect 6-0 mark at TD Garden and Stevens’ 100th-career win as an NBA coach. The C’s also are in sole possession of third place in the Eastern Conference as the calendar turns to March.

Not only was the win total impressive for Boston in February, but many of those victories also came against quality opponents. The C’s started off the month with four straight wins, one of which was against the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. They also picked up home wins over the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat.

The Western Conference Coach of the Month was the Portland Trail Blazers’ Terry Stotts, whose team will be at TD Garden on Wednesday.
